The trav.ly app is aiming to transform the ticketing and information experience for customers by bringing all modes of transport together. This will include bus, rail, car club, taxi, walking and cycling, enabling the user to plan an end-to-end journey and buy one ticket for the whole trip.
trav.ly is launching a trial version of the app on the 30th October to an exclusive number of people in Leeds enabling users to plan journeys by bus and rail. Some users will also have the added option to purchase discounted tickets on the Park and Ride services in Leeds.
The trial app includes a link to a short survey to allow us to gather opinions and suggestions on how the app can be further developed. All completed, valid surveys will be entered into a prize draw to win the latest iPhone 8.
How do I take part?
There are two parts of the trial, if you have been recruited to take part at a Park and Ride site and been provided with a unique code to input into the app, we are asking you to trial the ticketing functionality of the app. All you need to do is purchase a Park and Ride ticket through the app and show the digital ticket to the driver when you board the bus. Once you’ve travelled just complete the short survey in the app.
Alternatively if you have been invited to take part through your employer or university we are asking you to test the Journey Planning functionality of the app. Unfortunately you won’t have the option to purchase bus tickets during the trial. Once you’ve planned a few journey take a few moments to complete the in-app survey.
The two different parts of the trial are outlined below:
1 : Journey Planning Only
To take part in this trial users will have been invited to take part through your employer or university. Users who are part of this trial will be able to plan all of their public transport journeys within West Yorkshire over a two week period. Users should plan as many of their journeys as they like to understand how trav.ly improves their travel habits. Planning routes the user is familiar with will help bring to life the comparison between options on trav.ly and typical journeys.
The user has the option to complete a short survey and in return will be entered into a competition to win the latest iPhone 8.
2 : Park and Ride Ticketing
Users who are part of this trial will be invited to take part at the Leeds Park and Ride sites. Users will be able to plan their public transport journeys in West Yorkshire and purchase Park and Ride bus tickets for just £2 instead of £3. A digital ticket will be presented on the app to show the bus driver and away you go! You can use trav.ly for as many park and ride journeys as you like during the trial.
The user has the option to complete a short survey and in return will be entered into a competition to get the chance to win the latest iPhone 8.
The trial is open to users over the age of 18 who have an iPhone (must be iPhone 5 or later). The trial runs from 30th - October to 12th November.
